A memorable episode of the animated TV series What If...? expands into a four-part spin-off as part of phase six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel Zombies unfolds in an alternate timeline in which a deadly contagion has infected most of mankind, including many of the Avengers, transforming victims into flesh-hungry predators. Shang-Chi (voiced by Simu Liu), his best friend Katy (Awkwafina) and Alexei Shostakov aka Russian supersoldier Red Guardian (David Harbour) are among the few brave heroes to withstand the initial onslaught.
